Conditional planning permission has been granted to the owners of Cryan’s Teach Ceoil by Leitrim County Council for alterations and renovations of the existing Carrick-on-Shannon pub.
The application was made by Liam and Darina Cryan on September 6 of this year, with a decision being made on November 25.
The B&B will be renovated to include nine short-term tourist bedrooms and a music tuition room. Exterior upgrades will be made, solar panels installed on the southern roof, the existing beer garden retained, and all associated works completed.
There are 11 conditions attached to the planning permission, including amplified music or entertainment noise must not exceed background noise by more than three dB(A) from 8:00am to 10:00pm, and by more than one dB(A) at other times.
Furthermore, the external smoking area is strictly for smoking related to the pub/bar and cannot host special events or functions.
Pedestrian barriers must be used during works near the footpath to ensure safety for pedestrians and traffic.
Site development works can be carried out between the hours of 8:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturdays.
