Missing Person Manuel D'Costa
Gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a high-risk missing person, Manuel D’Costa who had only arrived in Ireland the day before he disappeared. He was last seen leaving a friend’s house on Leitrim Road at 6am on May 16, stating he was going to look for work.
Despite efforts from his friends to persuade him to return, he insisted on leaving.
He was reported missing to Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station at 9:15pm on the same day, after his brother, who had travelled from the UK to search for him, was unable to locate him.
D’Costa is described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants, a white shirt and a black hoodie.

Family and friends are extremely concerned for his wellbeing. D’Costa has very limited English, is unfamiliar with the area, and has no working mobile phone or other known contacts in the area.
Due to these circumstances, the Gardaí have classified his disappearance as a high risk case.
Current enquiries place Manuel as having been on foot in Ballyfarnan/Keadue/Cootehall areas.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station at 071 965 0510 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
