14% of schools in Leitrim have 30 pupils or more in their classes

Education Minister Helen McEntee noted that at the end of the school term, there were 24 classes in Leitrim with 30 pupils or more which means that one in seven school classes in the county have that amount. This is 14 percent of classes in Leitrim.

Education Minister Helen McEntee noted that at the end of the school term, there were 24 classes in Leitrim with 30 pupils or more which means that one in seven school classes in the county have that amount. This is 14 percent of classes in Leitrim.

The national average is 23 pupils per class.

Minister Helen McEntee said there were 15 in Longford and 23 in Roscommon, with over 30 kids.
