The suspected Leitrim burglary is being investigated
Gardaí in County Leitrim have launched an investigation following a burglary of a house in the Carrick-on-Shannon area over the weekend.
The burglary of the residential property occurred on Friday, November 28, 2025 at approximately 1.15pm.
Gardaí issued an appeal for information in relation to a BMW 5 series car with four occupants.
A community alert was issued following the incident which urged the public to look out for a vehicle observed in the area at the time of the burglary.
The alert reads: “A house in the Carrick on Shannon area was burgled on Friday.
"Four persons onboard a silver BMW 5 series with a 09 registration, believed to be false plates".

Anyone with information was urged to: "Report any sightings immediately to Gardai at Carrick-On-Shannon on 0719650510.”
