Gardaí in Leitrim detect motorists up to 41kph over speed limit

Gardai have revealed recent speed checks, carried out in the county as part of a National Speed Operation, resulted in a number of drivers being detected driving at speeds considerably higher than the speed limit of 100kph.

Gardai detected speeds as high as 141kph in a 100kph limit.

Each of the speeding drivers will receive a fixed charged penalty notice which comes with an €80 fine and three penalty points.
