RIP: 'Most amazing laugh and smile'- Leitrim woman paid tribute following short illness

Carmel Flanagan from Leitrim Village has passed away recently

Tributes have poured in for Carmel Flanagan from Leitrim Village who died in North West Hospice in Sligo following a short illness.

Carmel died on March 24 2025 in the loving arms of her family who will deeply miss her; her husband Ray, her children Michelle and Paul, son-in-law John and daughter-in-law Lisa, her grandchildren, stepchildren and step grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, extended family and friends.

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Carmel, with one mourner writing,

"Sincere condolences to Ray, Michelle, Paul & extended family on the very sad passing of Carmel. She had the most amazing laugh & smile, we have some great memories. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Another message said, "I am so sad to learn of Carmel's death, a lovely lovely girl, such a happy and carefree girl growing up, no other word for Carmel only nice! May God hold her in the palm of His hand,and until we meet again,rest easy in God's tender embrace. Noreen."

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:

Reposing at Shivnan's Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon, on Thursday, 27th March, from 5pm to 7pm. 

Funeral Mass in St Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo, on Friday, 28th March, at 11 am followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 2pm.
