An outpouring of condolences has appeared on RIP.ie, with many paying tribute to Johnny. “A gentleman always who will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and community,” one stated.
Johnny’s funeral Mass took place on Thursday, November 13 in St Brigid’s Church, Drumcong, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Further condolences have remembered his character and kindness. “Johnny carried out some work for me a number of years ago. He was the most conscientious, capable and obliging man I ever met. No job was too big, too small or too awkward to cause him to frown,” one condolence said.
“Fond recollections of him at school in Kiltoghert long ago, when he was a lovely little lad in his chocolate brown knitted sweater. May he now be reunited once again with his beautiful family in heaven and may he continue to watch over those who will miss him so much,” said another.
