ALERT: Gardaí issue warning over suspicious vehicle calling to farmyards in South Leitrim

The alert stated, “Gardaí have received reports of a white Ford Transit van, registration either 191D12391 or 201D12391 acting suspiciously in the Drumshanbo area and surrounds. Reports of vehicle calling to farmyards.”

ALERT: Gardaí issue warning over suspicious vehicle calling to farmyards in South Leitrim

A text alert has been issued by An Garda Síochána to residents in the South Leitrim area regarding a suspicious vehicle.

The alert stated, “Gardaí have received reports of a white Ford Transit van, registration either 191D12391 or 201D12391 acting suspiciously in the Drumshanbo area and surrounds. Reports of vehicle calling to farmyards.”

It also mentioned that there is one male occupant in the van. 

People are urged to remain vigilant and to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station on 071 965 0510 if the vehicle is seen.

Warnings have been issued to Leitrim residents over the past few days following a recent theft from a farmyard in Ballinamore, where equipment worth tens of thousands of euros was stolen.

Gardaí are reminding the public to keep all machinery and tools securely locked away, and stored separately from vehicles such as cars, quads, and lawnmowers. 

They also recommend having tools marked using a property marking machine.
