Tawley Woods, Co Leitrim
Leitrim is often said to punch above its weight on environmental matters. Leitrim PPN are hosting the formation of a new group for individuals with an interest in the environment and green issues. The first meeting of the Leitrim Local Environmental Network (LEN) takes place at the Mayflower, Drumshanbo, on Wednesday, March 27 at 8:15 pm. Everyone is welcome.
You don’t have to be a member of another group but if you are already interested in biodiversity, climate change action, reducing waste and recycling, involved in your Tidy Towns group or just have a general interest, why not get join in?
LENs have already been formed in Sligo, Roscommon and Mayo and some of their members are expected to attend to help give an idea of the types of activities that they undertake.
Catherine O’Toole from the Irish Environmental Network will also be on hand to explain the concept, give examples and answer any questions you might have. More details are available at www.leitrimppn.ie
This meeting takes place ahead of Leitrim PPN’s General Meeting on April 3.
Get in touch with Tracy Ferguson, Resource Worker with Leitrim PPN, if you have any questions.
