Kiltubrid's Aine Tighe won the first rebel AFLW Goal of the Year vote by a landslide as the Fremantle Dockers star won the online vote with over 90% of the vote.
The former Leitrim star was one of three nominated players for the rebel AFLW Goal of the Year competition in week 1 after Aine hit two goals in Fremantle's 27-19 derby win over West Coast Eagles, leading to her being nominated for the prestigious award.
In the vote, which closed earlier today, Aine won 93% of the vote with Chloe Molloy of Sydney Swans second with 6% and Darcy Vescio receving 1% of the vote.
Fremantle's own website described the goal: "Aine Tighe's masterful goal from the pocket is one of three in line for a rebel AFLW Goal of the Year nomination for round one. With just seconds remaining in the opening half, Tighe crumbed and threw the ball on the boot while one the run as the ball dribbled through."
