Leitrim's crucial Lidl LGFA NFL Division 4 semi-final with Limerick has been fixed for 1 pm on Sunday week, March 24, at the Padraig Pearses club grounds in Woodmount outside Ballinasloe in south Roscommon.

The Ladies have played quite a few games in Duggan Park in Ballinasloe in recent years but this will be the first time that the Pearses' ground hosts a Leitrim team in inter-county action as Jonny Garrity's side seek to book promotion to Division 3.

In a change from previous years, the top two teams in all four divisions will be promoted instead of just the League final winners so the winners of the Leitrim v Limerick clash and the other semi-final between Fermanagh and Carlow, which will take place on the same day at the Lann Léire GAA Club in Dunleer, will be playing Division 3 football next year.

It also means that the Ladies Semi-Final will directly clash with the final round of the Allianz NFL Division 4 campaign with Leitrim hosting Tipperary on the same date and at the same time, potentially denying fans the chances to see both teams in action.

Leitrim have already defeated Limerick in this campaign, winning their Ballinamore clash 2-11 to 1-7 but the Treaty women were well in contention until the arrival of subs Michelle Guckian and Leah Fox off the bench.

Limerick then snatched third place in the table when they secured a 1-11 to 1-9 victory over Carlow in the final round, the Barrowsiders boasting a superior scoring difference but Limerick taking third spot by virtue of the head to head result after both finished on 11 points.

The Lidl LGFA Division 4 League Final is fixed for Saturday, April 6.
