Longford will be guessing as to who will take the field in Green & Gold colours for Sunday’s Tailteann Cup clash in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park after Andy Moran made one change to the starting line-up for the crucial second round clash.
Victory on Sunday would assure Leitrim to at least a preliminary quarter-final spot as well as home advantage ahead of the final round clash with Longford while Paddy Christie’s side will be chasing a much needed victory after a chastening 20 point defeat at the hands of Kildare.
Ballinaglera’s Jamie McGrail is again named to start for the second week in the row but the young wing-back was replaced before throw-in in Ballinamore by Cathal McHugh, the Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins clubman returning to the bench.
Aughawillan’s Mark Plunkett, who missed last week’s game through injury, is named on the bench as is Annaduff’ Conor Reynolds who was a late change to the match day squad. Mohill’s long serving Shane Quinn, who came on as a late sub, drops out of the match day squad as does Kiltubrid’s Stephen McLoughlin.
LEITRIM LOOKING FOR HOME COMFORTS
Given the late changes last week that saw Radek Oberwan and Cathal McHugh start and Conor Reynolds come into the squad, there could yet be a number of changes.
Of the Longford team that saw action in their 1-16 0-13 victory over Leitrim in the League, only keeper Patrick Collum and Jayson Matthews did not see action and Paddy Christie makes two changes from the team that lost heavily to Kildare last weekend with Aaron Farrell and Keelin McGann starting on the bench next Sunday.
