Congratulations to the Leitrim Observer Men's and Ladies Teams of the Year 2022

The public have spoken, their voice has been heard as the Leitrim Observer reveals it's 2022 Men's and Ladies Club Team of the Year after another huge response from the public over the past two and a half weeks.

With hundreds of votes cast for each position, there was some incredibly tight battles with a couple of positions on both teams coming down to a vote or two and no doubt, there will be plenty of debate and disagreement with who the public have voted onto this year's Leitrim Observer Men's and Ladies Club Teams of the Year.

St Mary's Kiltoghert dominate the men's selection with eight players from the Fenagh Cup winners making it on the final 15. League winners and Senior finalists Mohill have just the one representative in Keith Beirne while Senior semi-finalists Fenagh St Caillins and Leitrim Gaels and Intermediate champions Aughnasheelin all have two players on the final team selected by the public.

Men's Team:

1. Kevin McWeeney (Aughnasheelin), 2. Conor Farrell (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 3. Mark Diffley (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 4. Adam Reynolds (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 5. Ciaran Cullen (Aughnasheelin), 6. Nicholas McWeeney (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 7. Gavin Reynolds (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 8. James McGrail (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 9. Paul Keaney (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 10. Aidan Flynn
(Leitrim Gaels), 11. Keith Beirne (Mohill), 12. Stephen Goldrick (Leitrim Gaels), 13. Jack Casey (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 14. Ryan O’Rourke (Fenagh St Caillins), 15. Riordan O’Rourke (Fenagh St Caillins).

The strong vote from the St Mary's camp continued into the Ladies team selection with four players from last year's Intermediate champions making it onto the final team, giving them the joint highest representation in the final selection along with Senior B champions and Connacht Intermediate club finalists Kiltubrid.

The big surprise is that Senior A champions Glencar Manorhamilton have just two players voted onto the final 15 by our readers with St Joseph's also seeing two players make it. Leitrim Gaels, St Francis and St Brigid's complete the team with one player each selected.

Ladies Team:

1. Niamh McDonagh (St Francis), 2. Caroline Doherty (Kiltubrid), 3. Jasmine Maye (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 4. Siobhan McCartin (St Joseph’s), 5. Annette Ferguson (Glencar Manorhamilton), 6. Lauren Tivnan (Kiltubrid), 7. Carla Le Guen (St Brigid’s), 8. Aoife McWeeney (Kiltubrid), 9. Elise Bruen (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 10. Muireann Devaney (Glencar Manorhamilton), 11. Michelle Guckian (Kiltubrid), 12. Sarah Reynolds (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 13. Aisling Leahy (St Mary’s Kiltoghert), 14. Catherine Farrell
(Leitrim Gaels), 15. Bronagh O’Rourke (St Joseph’s).
