The Mummers' Join Harvest Meitheal took place last Sunday, September 10, on Guckian's farm at Drumsna, Co. Leitrim where the oats the community sowed in Spring were harvested by the local people. When the harvesting was finished they spent the afternoon in the fields celebrating with music, singing, dancing and feasting. In December the community will make Mummer hats from the straw and travel throughout the area visiting houses to bring good luck.
