Are you a family member of an older adult who was in acute hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic?
Did you experience visiting restrictions or limitations during hour loved one's hospitalisation?
Do you want to share your experience and help others going through a similar situation?
Tracy McGuinness, a Masters of Research student in Atlantic Technological University is looking for family members of older adults in Leitrim to join a study exploring your experiences of hospital visiting restrictions during the pandemic.
By participating, you can help the researchers to understand the impact of visiting restrictions on family members and inform future policies and practices. Your valuable input would be greatly appreciated.
Tracy said, “I have worked in the HSE as physiotherapist for over two decades and I am currently an ATU student pursuing my Masters of Research.
“Our project focuses on understanding the effects of hospital visiting restrictions on family members of older adults during the pandemic.
“As you are well aware, these restrictions have been in place to ensure safety, but they have also led to significant emotional and psychological challenges for families who were unable to visit their loved ones during critical times.
“I believe that shedding light on this topic would not only provide valuable insights to your readers but also create a platform for discussion about the broader implications of such restrictions.
“Moreover, it offers an opportunity to reach out to family members who have experienced this situation, potentially involving them as interviewees to share their experiences.”
