Legendary Country Music Star Hank Wangford plays at the Corn Mill Theatre

Hank Wangford, the godfather of the English music scene, will perform at the Corn Mill Theatre on Sunday, September 1, at 5pm as part of a short Irish tour.

Hank has spent over 30 years spreading the word of good hard Country music. He fronts various incarnations of bands - The Lost Cowboys, The Wangford Big Bass Combo and now in a duo with dobro wizard Noel Dashwood as Hank n Dash.

Now he is coming back to tour Ireland starting at the Clifden Arts Festival on September 18. He will be joined by Noel Dashwood and three fine Irish musicians The Messages, (Seanan Brennan of KILA, Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick and Denise Boyle) based in Donegal.

Most songs Hank does will be from his troublesome tenth album Holey Holey and his new duo project with The Dash Promises Promises due to be released in Ireland and the UK on December 1.

The last time Hank officially toured in Ireland was in 2022 with his small tour with The Messages and special guest Seamus O’Rourke performing in Clifden and Ballintubbert with Glen Hansard and the Footsbarn Theatre Company.

The New York Times regarding Hank's talent said: "If you want originality, something that still has the bite and twang that drained out of so much country, the sharp cutting wit and the rawness of hard country, then there is only one man to see.  His name is Hank Wangford."
