Kinlough
Covid proved that everyone likes to "get out and about and go for their walk," Cathaoirleach Cllr Justin Warnock said at a recent meeting where he asked the council to designate the Barr Road 5km loop, the High Road 9km loop at Kinlough and the Sea Road in Tullaghan as walking routes and erect the appropriate signage necessary in the interest of road safety.
He continued: "I'm asking for a couple of signs to be put up so people are aware they can walk there".
Cllr Mary Bohan seconded the motion saying that "she had never seen so many people out walking as this year" and this should be promoted where possible.
The official response said, "This can be investigated and, if appropriate, then funding will have to be identified and sourced in conjunction with our Tourism Department."
