Cllr Caillian Ellis proposed that Ballinamore Municipal District repair the depression in the road in Cloone Village at the latest municipal district meeting of Ballinamore.
The official response said that the council are hoping to include the Main Street of Cloone in our next three year plan as a full Road Restoration Grant (RIG) Grant, as it will require extensive reconstruction.
Cllr Ellis said that if the section is "left for three years, it'll be a gully" adding that "a stitch in time saves nine."
Cllr Ita Reynolds-Flynn supported the motion.
Darragh O'Boyle, district engineer for Leitrim County Council said that in the meantime, "we can seal it up; it'll be untidy but it'll hold it."
He added, "we'll carry out some kind of protective maintenance on it in the meantime."
