Newtownmanor locals are urging motorists to slow down in their area.
According to the local community, drivers are speeding on the R278 through Newtownmanor in order to avoid the road works on the N16 Glencar/Manorhamilton Road.
Locals stated: "[The road] is not a race track, so please do not treat it as if it were one. You are putting lives in danger."
However, the number of people wearing high visibility clothing in the local area has reportedly increased.
Walkers have been praised for ensuring they are visible to traffic during both the day and night.
