Man arrested after two Leitrim Gardaí are injured in road traffic collision

A man has been arrested in relation to two gardaí in Leitrim sustained injuries after a road traffic collision.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the N16 at Glenfarne during the early hours of Monday morning, January 15.

One the vehicles involved in the collision was an official Garda vehicle, where the two officers sustained injuries and were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported.

The driver of the other car, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Co. Leitrim, and has since been released without charge.
