All you need to know as Leitrim Village gears up for spectacular St Patrick's Day parade

Plans are well underway in Leitrim Village for a spectacular St Patrick's Day Parade.
In what will no doubt be a big boost to the village post the tornado, there is a whirlwind of excitement building in the village for this year's event!
The parade kicks off with St Patrick himself at 3pm. Those participating in the parade on foot or on wheels, motorised vehicles or floats should line up from 2:30pm at Holly Park on the Carrick-on-Shannon side of the village.
Stewards will direct everyone. The Kiltubrid Pipe Band will be opening the parade. There will be music on the street from 2pm with the popular Carol O'Dowd.
Also face painters and street entertainers and buskers are welcome to join. There is no entry fee for anyone taking part in the parade/ competition.
There are four categories of prizes: 1 Most Creative Entry 2 Funniest Entry 3 Best Environmental Entry 4 Best Club / Organisation Entry pre-registration is not necessary but if desired people can register by contacting leitrimvillageevents@bluewaylodge.ie.
There will be a special St Patrick's Day treat in St Joseph's Hall after 10:15 am mass in St Joseph's Church where tea, coffee and refreshments will be served while children can avail of face-painting.
All are welcome to Leitrim Village on this St Patrick's Day.
