Kinlough’s Rachel Foley is a finalist for the Miss Galaxy Ireland pageant, which will take place on Sunday, April 14, at the Beechlawn Hotel in Belfast.
Rachel is a 24-year-old woman who works as a Health and Safety officer and is an ambassador and fundraiser for Aware, a mental health charity. She recently completed her mental health first aid and suicide prevention course.
The winner will then go to Internationals in Florida in August this year to hopefully bring home the title back to Ireland and Leitrim.
Rachel wants to use her title to spread awareness and help when it comes to mental health and wants to leave a positive legacy behind.
She has been preparing for the finals with her pageant coach, Anouska Black, and with the help of the local community, using the local halls/ dance studios for practice.
Rachel is sharing her journey on her Instagram page, @Racheltfoley, and she will be doing the Giant Steps fundraiser on April 27, followed by a abseil in September all to raise funds for Aware.
