Children in Leckaun National School have been enjoying delicious hot meals as part of a nationwide rollout of the same scheme.
Leckaun NS is one of seven schools in Leitrim that now provide hot lunches at no cost to parents.
The principal of Leckaun NS, Joanne Gilmartin, said the Fresh Today School Lunches is their chosen supplier.
“Our parents and children enjoyed a tasting session from our chosen supplier. This gave everyone a ‘flavour’ of what meals were on the upcoming menu,” she said.
“There’s plenty on offer, bangers and mash, roast with spuds and veg, chicken curry, baguettes, lasagne, pasta, pizza and many more, including plain options to cater for all tastes and appetites,” Joanne added.
Leckaun NS is one of the seven schools in Leitrim who have availed of the Hot Meals Scheme, which is completely free to parents.
