Gardaí in Leitrim have reminded drivers to not risk their lives under the influence after seizing the car of a drunk driver on Tuesday night.
At 10pm on Tuesday, Gardai in Manorhamilton tested a driver at a MIT checkpoint and found the driver to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
Gardaí searched the vehicle, and quickly found a large spread of cans of beer and cider in the back seat.
It was also discovered that the car had no NCT.
Gardaí confirmed that the car was seized following the search and breathalyzer test.
The driver will receive a 6 months disqualification and a €400 fine.
