The owners of the Lough Rynn Estate in Co Leitrim are seeking planning permission for a major restoration at the site.
A planning application has been submitted to Leitrim County Council this week (July 24) for the restoration and change of use of the former dispensary.
According to the application submitted, the building will become a single dwelling unit with a two-storey rear extension (not higher than the existing building), entrance lobby, kitchen, bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom, and utility.
Permeable paving, car access, entrance gates, parking for three cars, and associate site works and alterations to the existing building are all included.
A decision is expected by mid-September.
The estate previously received €20,000 through Leitrim County Council under the Historic Structures Fund to re-slate the dispensary's roof, splice the perished ends of rafters, re-lay flashings in Code 5 lead, and re-bed perished mortal joints in lime/sand.
