Uisce Éireann crews in Leitrim have repaired a burst which was impacting customers supplied by the South Leitrim Regional Water Supply Scheme on Friday afternoon.
A normal water supply is now returning to customers in the Foxfield, Fenagh, Ballinamore, and surrounding areas in Co. Leitrim.
Uisce Éireann’s Peadar Griffin thanked customers for their patience while crews carried out repair works.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our crews worked to ensure that a normal water supply is returned to all of our customers as soon as possible,” said Peadar.
Repair works were completed at 3pm this afternoon (Friday, 2 August) and Uisce Éireann recommends that customers allow two to three hours after repairs for normal supply to return to homes and businesses.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from Uisce Éireann for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Uisce Éireann continues to provide detailed, real-time, and local information about water service and supply issues on www.water.ie. The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and updates are also issued via Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare.
