Rose Farrell, the PRO for the event, described the weather as a “miracle,” highlighting that it was “the best day of the year, we were so lucky.” The sunny conditions provided a perfect backdrop for the day’s activities.
One of the event’s standout features was the Vintage Display, which showcased a remarkable collection of classic cars, restored tractors, and historical farming machinery.
This nostalgic exhibit offered visitors a fascinating glimpse into agricultural history.
The festival’s success was largely attributed to the dedicated efforts of the community. Farrell extended her gratitude to the volunteers, saying, “I’d like to give a special shout-out to the ladies of Bornacoola parish, who made 70 loaves of sandwiches for the Helpers Café and staffed the café throughout the day.
The men managed traffic, often spending the entire day in the car park. And, of course, our Youth Club took care of the litter pick-up and ensured the venue was returned in pristine condition.”
She added, “It’s truly a community effort. This event raises significant funds for our parish and is really the jewel in our crown.”
Volunteers were instrumental in managing event logistics and ensuring everything ran smoothly.”
