A team from the Sligo-Leitrim HSE mental health service has won the mental health initiative of the year at the 2024 Mental Health Awards.
The winning team celebrated the event on the 4th of December at Dublin Royal Convention Centre person, after their initiative, which was a person-centred Mental Health Crisis Resolution team was announced as the winner.
The judges present stated that it was an “excellent initiative to address crisis resolution with evidence of a reduction in admissions. It also provides a better user experience outside of emergency care pathways and is in line with Sláintecare policy regarding care in the community."
The event marked the 23rd Irish Healthcare Awards and it hosted over 500 medical professionals to recognise their achievements in improving the Irish healthcare sector for patients.
The Sligo-Leitrim team’s initiative was chosen by a panel of more than 25 judges which included some of the country’s most respected physicians, educators, patient advocates, medical journalists, and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry who reviewed the entries.
