“Stunning” house in Leitrim up for raffle

With house prices in Leitrim crawling upwards in tune with the rest of the country, Leitrim resident Imelda Collins is raffling a stunning two-bedroom house.

The two-bedroom house which was renovated in 2022 comes with 1.75 Acres of land and is situated in Leitrim with a mountain view and is only a 15-minute drive from Sligo.

Imelda decided to raffle the house instead of selling it after reading articles online about others doing the same thing. “I just read about a lot of articles online about people who would raffle their homes and it just seemed interesting, and I thought I would give it a go,” she said.

The Cork native is starting a “new chapter” in her life and did not want to go down the traditional route of selling the house, which has a patio and an interior that she fully designed herself.

“It would suit a single person, a couple, or a family of four and there is a load of room for expansion for people who want to do that,” she says.

It costs around €6 to enter the competition which thousands have done since it opened in October. Ticket sales will continue until May of next year.

The winner will take the house along with the furnishing while having their legal fees and stamp duty paid for by Imelda. However in the case that not enough tickets are sold, the house will not be given but instead, the winner will get half of the money raised by the ticket sales.

The raffle will be held independently by Rafall, a website for holding raffle online with a 4.5-star review on Trustpilot. Pictures of the house can be viewed on Imelda’s website: https://www.winahousenearsligo.ie/
