Leitrim was found to be the second most affordable county in the country for couples looking to buy their first home, according to CSO data.
The data, compiled over the 12 months leading up to December 2024, showed that the average house price in the county was €220,000.
It also stated that it would take a couple earning the county's median income of €82,590 around 1.9 years to save for a deposit.
The North-West was the most affordable region in the country, with Longford, Leitrim, Donegal, Mayo, and Roscommon making up the most affordable counties for a couple to buy a home.
Longford topped the list with a median house price of €180,000, the deposit for which would take 1.7 years to save for.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown was deemed the least affordable area in the country for homebuyers, with a median house price of €609,999, taking 21 years to save for the deposit.
