Two Irish expats have completed a gruelling 600km run from Mizen Head to Malin Head in just ten days—thanks in part to the support of a Carrick-on-Shannon company.

Bill Staunton from Ballscadden, Dublin, and Barry Lee from Letterkenny, Donegal—now based in Australia—ran up to 57km a day as part of their “Wild Irish Run” campaign to raise funds for Pieta House and highlight the importance of men’s mental health.

Locally, Energy Partners in Carrick-on-Shannon played a key role in supporting the effort, with Evan Halpin stepping in to provide team jerseys and help spread the word. GRG Sports in nearby Ballaghaderreen also came on board, supplying vital sports gear for the ten-day trek.

Running under the motto “Do it for those who can’t,” Bill and Barry raised nearly €17,000 and sparked conversations across the country about suicide prevention and mental-health awareness.

The pair say they were blown away by the generosity of Irish businesses and communities. “We’re so grateful to every sponsor and supporter who helped us turn this run into something truly meaningful,” they said.
