Imelda May will launch her 2026 Irish tour with an opening-night performance at The Dock Arts Centre on January 29, placing Carrick-on-Shannon first on the itinerary of her national run of shows.
The Dock date is already sold out and will see May present a live set combining music, spoken word and storytelling in the Leitrim venue, which has become an increasingly prominent stop for national touring artists in recent years.
The Dublin-born artist, raised in the Liberties, is best known for her work as a singer and songwriter, alongside roles in television, film and poetry. Her debut album Love Tattoo (2008) remains the best-selling album by an Irish female artist, while her most recent release, 11 Past the Hour (2021), reached number one in Ireland and the UK Top 10.
May’s musical style has evolved over time, moving beyond her early rockabilly sound to incorporate elements of blues, soul, gospel and jazz.
In addition to music, she has worked extensively in television, including presenting The Imelda May Show on RTÉ and co-hosting Later… with Jools Holland on the BBC. She has also fronted and co-produced a number of Sky Arts documentaries and, most recently, the RTÉ series Amhráin na nGael (Song of the Irish), which aired in late 2025.

Her acting credits include Fisherman’s Friends: One and All and Four Letters of Love, which premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2025.
The Carrick-on-Shannon show marks the opening night of May’s 2026 tour, which will continue across Ireland in the weeks that follow.
