From Disney to Leitrim — viral Byrne Brothers set for homecoming gig

The Byrne Brothers — the viral Irish music sensation with millions of online followers — are set to take to the stage at The Glens Centre in Manorhamilton on April 17.

Fresh from touring the United States alongside The High Kings, the Donegal-born family band are bringing their high-energy live show back to the Northwest for what promises to be a standout night on the local arts calendar.

Originally from Mountcharles in Co Donegal and now based in Orlando, Florida, the group — made up of brothers Luca, Finn and Dempsey alongside their father Tommy — have built a global following through a mix of traditional Irish music and modern performance.

Over the past number of years, they have performed across 49 U.S. states and spent eight years entertaining audiences at Disney parks, while also headlining major festivals including Milwaukee Irish Fest and Dublin Irish Fest.

But despite their international success — including more than 50 million video views online — their roots remain firmly grounded in traditional Irish music.

Their live shows, however, are anything but traditional.

Blending banjo, fiddle, accordion and bodhrán with high-energy production, bass drops and Irish dance, the Byrne Brothers have developed a performance style that appeals to both traditional music fans and younger audiences.

Finn Byrne, a two-time Ulster champion Irish dancer and world qualifier, adds a visual edge to the show, while the band’s tight harmonies and musicianship have earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting Irish acts currently touring.

Local audiences will now get a rare chance to see that energy up close when the band returns for their homecoming performance in Manorhamilton.

With a history of drawing large crowds — including standout performances at major U.S. festivals — demand is expected to be strong.
