Manorhamilton residents highlight dangerous crossing for pedestrians

Residents in Manorhamilton have been in contact with the Leitrim Observer to highlight the dangerous crossing for pedestrians at Upper Main St, Manorhamilton.

"We feel strongly that the speed with which traffic descends the hill, mixed with a blind bend and the primary and secondary school children that frequently cross here, is a lethal mixture and an accident waiting to happen," said a spokesperson.

When asked about the crossing the group said it is not a designated crossing. "We feel that there should be one here and so that is why we took this photo. If you stand there for 10 minutes on any weekday when children are going to and from school you will see how dangerous it is."
