843 Leitrim school children took part in Maths Week Ireland events last week.
Maths Week Ireland has reported record numbers for 2016 with over a quarter of a million pupils registered on their website plus an estimated 50,000 people who attended events across the island enjoying the largest festival of maths in the world. Teachers and pupils were very creative and most organised their own events to promote maths within their school. S
ome of these events included doing maths trails, holding maths fairs, visiting the local supermarket to investigate prices and budgeting and investigating and measuring the height of local structures.
