The Irish Wheelchair Association Leitrim has launched its national fundraising campaign 'Angels' in Carrick-on-Shannon.
The Association is currently recruiting local volunteers for its national fundraising campaign Angels, which takes place on Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11.
IWA provides essential services from its Day Centre in Leitrim supporting 50 local people with physical disabilities on a weekly basis. IWA is asking local community groups, organisations, businesses, schools and colleges to volunteer their time to sell Angels products or to host an Angels event during November. All funds raised during the Angels Campaign will be invested into the range of services IWA provides from the Day Centre in Carrick-on -Shannon.
During the month of November and specifically across the two collection days (Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11) hundreds of local volunteers are required to sell a selection of Angels products which include Angel Pins, Children’s Fun Packs and Angels Car Air Fresheners.
Speaking about the Angels Campaign, as it was launched Jeanette Beirne IWA Angels Coordinator Leitrim said: “The Angels campaign which continues for the month of November will see hundreds of volunteers selling Angels products nationwide to raise funds for the range of services, supports and sports programmes that IWA provides to people with disabilities in towns and communities throughout Ireland.
“IWA Leitrim is hoping that the local community will support our fundraising efforts this November by volunteering some time during the two national collection days.
“ They are looking for volunteers to assist us with collections outside ALDI stores in Carrick-on-Shannon, organise local fundraising events such as Angels Coffee Mornings or Angels Fun Runs.”
There are many ways that you can assist with the Angels Campaign this November. IWA and their Fundraising Team will be supporting businesses, colleges, schools and other local organisations with Angels events, raffles and bake sales. The easiest way to support IWA this November is to text ANGELS to 50300 to make a €2 donation.
