St. Vincent de Paul make urgent appeal

The Carrick-on-Shannon conference of St. Vincent de Paul is making an urgent appeal this winter, as Christmas approaches. Clean, warm jumpers for both men and women are badly needed. A steady supply of blankets and duvets is always in demand and is urgently required at present.

The Carrick-on-Shannon thrift shop is the only St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop in Leitrim. Located on the Dublin Road, (next to Kelly’s foodstore), donations can be made on Mondays from 11am-2pm and on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11am-5pm.

Late night shopping on Thursdays is suspended for the winter months, until further notice. All money raised in the shop is redistributed to those in need in the local community.

There is a very large team of volunteers quietly and generously giving of their time and expertise to run the Carrick-on-Shannon conference, ensuring that the less well off in our community are not forgotten.

On behalf of those who benefit, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul thanks all who support them in their work and look forward to continued support into the future.
