Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N5 at Frenchpark, Co.Roscommon at 5.15pm on Thursday 8th December 2016.
A pedestrian believed to be in his 70s was fatally injured when he was involved with a collision with a car. The driver of the car, a man, was not injured.
The N5 is closed between Frenchpark and Ballaghadrreen pending the arrival of Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
