New TUSLA building works to commence next month in Carrick-on-Shannon

Deputy Tony McLoughlin has confirmed to leitrimobserver.ie that the roll out of new Tusla Child and Family Agency offices in Carrick-on-Shannon is due to commence in June in the Shannonside Retail Park on the Dublin Road in Carrick-on-Shannon, circa 1km from the centre of the town.

“Fit out services for the new facility will commence shortly and are expected to be operational by the end of the year stated McLoughlin.

“The office will comprise of 10,000 square foot of accommodation over two floors including reception/waiting room, staff work stations for family support and social work team, a family kitchen and work room for training purposes, meeting rooms, restrooms, access rooms and ancillary facilities.

"The facility will be located in a modern, vacant office unit in the Shannonside Retail Park on the Dublin Road. The premises will replace existing unsatisfactory accommodation that Tusla services are currently located in on the Leitrim Road.

"The new building will be fitted to a high standard with high levels of natural light and ventilation, energy efficient heating and will be fully serviced by a lift and stairs."

Deputy McLoughlin says he looks forward to the people of South Leitrim being able to avail of these services in safe, secure and friendly surroundings.
