Initial tallies indicate Leitrim vote may be much closer

Huge turnout predicted in Kildare referendum vote this Friday

Tallies have started for Leitrim and initial results are showing strong much stronger 'No' votes, especially in rural areas.

Only a small number of boxes have been opened and so far but the gap between the Yes and No votes is very slim.

In Ballinamore one box showed a yes vote of 163 with 160 no votes.

Leitrim Village NS -  157 Yes votes and 112 No;

Carrick-on-Shannon booth 4 -  158 Yes votes and 116 for No;

Kiltoghert -  142 Yes votes and 83 for No;

Kilnagross 84 yes votes and 62 for No;

Carrigallen booth 2 -  109 for Yes and 128 for No;

Drumsna Community Centre - 211 Yes and 162 No votes

Currycamp - 130 Yes and 123 No.
