Scarecrow festival in Keshcarrigan

Get creative with your scarecrow entry

The Scary Kesh Feis Festival organisers would like to invite you to participate in its very first Scarecrow Festival in Keshcarrigan.

You are encouraged to design, and build a Scarecrow, either individually or in teams (as you please).
Make it BIG, make it extraordinary, scary or topical make it funny, as long as it isn't offensive, go for it!
Everyone is welcome and there are already registrations in from Mohill, Fenagh and Drumcong and even Rocommon and the more the merrier!

Every house that puts an entry must register in Gerties or Rockin' Mollies (McKeon's Bar) and pay €5.
Place your Scarecrow in Keshcarrigan Village with your registration number attached.
Please keep in mind that the pieces have to be weatherproof and have to be securely fixed.
You are encouraged to use placard/poster, which can be placed with or beside the scarecrow.
There will be first prize for the winner, sponsored by local business man Dermot Keaney, Shanraw Maintenance Construction - the emphasis is on clean, joyous, fun!

Judging will take place after October 25. Winner will be announced on October 27 at the Halloween Fancy Dress Party, there will also be prizes for fancy dress on Saturday night.
This is a wonderful fun and unique event for Keshcarrigan.
It started on October 6 with a Scarecrow Workshop facilitated by Fionnuala Barrett which kick-started the enthusiasm of children old and young!

The committee welcome everyone to Keshcarrigan for October Bank Holiday Weekend for Halloween entertainment.
The spooky fun kicks off with Pumpkin Carving Competition and Apple Bobbing, followed by Scary Scarecrow Parade at 7.30pm through the village on October 27.

On Sunday, October 28 there is an adult Zombie Party from 8.30pm and on Bank Holiday Monday, October 29 the kids can enjoy lotions and potions from 2-4pm.
