Park for free in Ballyshannon again
The proposal to scrap the parking charges in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal was passed last week.
Cllr Seamus Maguire (Ind) raised concerns over that income of parking charges, approx €6,000 would be lost.
However, Cllr Barry O’Neill (FG) who has been campaigning for years against the charges pointed out that it cost around €35,000 to have the charges in place, leaving a net annual loss of €29,000.
The move was welcomed by local councillors and businesses in the town.
