Tick tock! Tick Tock! What are you waiting for?

The local launch of the IBYE competition took place in the Hive, Carrick-on-Shannon

“The clock is counting down. We are fast approaching the closing date for applications for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur. Now is the time for you to visit www.ibye.ie to enter” says Joe Lowe, Head of Enterprise for Local Enterprise Office Leitrim.

Now in its fifth year, this dynamic competition is open to 18 to 35-year-olds who have an idea for starting a business or who are already running their own business.

“We have a €50,000 prize fund to give away here in Leitrim and we are looking for young entrepreneurs to enter in the three categories: Best New Idea, Best Start Up and Best Established Business.”

All entrants are invited to an Enterprise Day with brilliant business advice and mentoring on offer. From there, a shortlist will be invited to an intensive Boot Camp and will move forward the #IBYE County Final.

2018 IBYE finalist Noel Dykes of Frankli had this to say about his IBYE experience. “IBYE gave us the confidence and validation we needed to press on with our business. It also opened up a valuable network of customers and investors.”

The application process is quick, free and simple but applications close on March 15 so time is running out. “Just visit www.ibye.ie and take 15 minutes to complete your application. If you have any difficulties at all give our IBYE Coordinator Orla Mongey a call on 071 96 50420. We’re just a call away and we are happy to help.”

At the local launch of the IBYE competition in the Hive, Carrick-on-Shannon, Cathaoirleach Seán McGowan said “We have had great success in Leitrim with the competition over the past few years. We would love to see a young entrepreneur from #TeamLeitrim making it to the National Finals of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur 2019 in google this year. Enter the competition today and who knows it could be you!”
