Climate Dialogue sessions in Leitrim - lively debates and great ideas!

The GEAI Climate Dialogue sessions will provide an opportunity for people to share their thoughts and concerns about the impact of climate change

Do you think that not enough is being done to combat the climate crisis?
Have you ideas on what more can be done locally and nationally?
Would you like an opportunity to have your say?

GEAI, a Leitrim group committed to working with communities and making their voices heard, is hosting two Climate Dialogue sessions before Christmas.
These will be held on November 29 and December 1 from 7 to 10pm in Ballinaglera Community Hall.

They will provide an opportunity for people to choose their priorities for action to be taken to combat the climate crisis.
“It is now clear – every one of us is impacted and must adapt to the current emergency situation,” said Aedín McLoughlin, CEO of GEAI.
“Whether it is using less energy, being more energy efficient, switching to renewable energies or using public transport, there are ways for all of us to do our bit.

“However, individuals and small communities can’t do it all. We must put pressure on businesses, local authorities and agencies to put Climate Action Plans in place and play an active role in lowering emissions locally and nationally.”
The GEAI Climate Dialogue sessions will provide an opportunity for people to share their thoughts and concerns about the impact of climate change and environmental protection in Leitrim and Sligo.

“The sessions are open to all. They offer a chance for people to learn about the work that is being done to address climate change, and plan how they can get involved.
“Participating in the dialogues is a great way for people to make their voices heard and to play their part in putting sustainable solutions in place.”

“We want to know what actions you think will combat the impact of climate change and support environmental protection in your communities,” said Silvia Garces, Climate Dialogue Coordinator.
“Your input will help us identify the priorities that need to be addressed. Expect a lively debate and plenty of great ideas for action!

“Leitrim can lead the way in the development of sustainable and thriving communities. There is nothing to stop us if we are willing to work together. Come and be part of our sustainable future!”

GEAI Climate Dialogue sessions will take place on November 29 and December 1 from 7pm to 10pm in Ballinaglera Community Hall. Entrance free and refreshments will be provided.
