Rossinver road should see improvement works next year to enhance visibility, as heard at the meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District.

Cllr Justin Warnock proposed a motion urging the Roads department to seek funding for road realignment on a section of the R282 in Rossinver, between the Kiltyclogher junction and Kevin Regan’s Aeropods construction business.

“There’s a bend there that you can’t see and there’s a section of a hedge that needs to come out and a little bit of money needs to be spent for the visibility of people that live in the village,” Cllr Warnock said.

He also highlighted the heavy traffic on the road.

A response from the Roads department explained that the section of the road mentioned in Cllr Warnock’s motion would not qualify for a Strategic Infrastructure Grant.

However, plans are in place to implement low-cost safety works to improve visibility at the junctions in Rossinver. This work is expected to be completed in 2025, subject to land acquisition.
