The following local deaths have occurred:
Margaret McManus, Greagh, Arigna, Co Roscommon
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the staff of St Phelim’s Nursing Home, Dromahair on Wednesday, September 28. Predeceased by her husband Pat, sons Michael and Seamus. Sadly missed by her loving son Ronan, daughters Teresa and Mary, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her many friends. Reposing at the residence of her daughter Teresa, (Greagh) on Thursday afternoon, September 29 from 2pm until 8pm. Removal on Friday, September 30 to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Arigna arriving for Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Eugene McCarthy - Kilconny, Belturbet, Co Cavan
Following a long illness in the loving care of his family at his home on Tuesday, September 27. Beloved husband of Phyllis and dearly loved father of Derval, Ronan, Orla, Yvonne and Fergal, his brothers Frank, Kevin and Cal, sisters Phil, Maureen, Peggy, Kathy and Joan, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law and five grandchildren. Reposing at his home today, Wednesday, from 4pm until 10pm. House private at all other times please. Removal on Thursday morning from his residence to arrive at St Mary's Church, Staghall for 11am Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Noreen Charles - Mullingar, Co Westmeath/Cloone, Co Leitrim
Noreen Charles (nee Cooney), Chestnut Drive, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and formerly of Kells, Co. Meath and Cloone, Co. Leitrim on Monday, September 26. Wife of the late Eugene and survived by her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Rita (Canada), and her many friends in Ireland, the UK, the US and Canada. Reposing at Shaw's Funeral Home, Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar on Wednesday, September 28, from 4pm until 6pm with removal to the Cathedral of Christ The King arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning, September 29, at 10am followed by burial in Taughmon Cemetery.
