A non-national man has been charged following a search operation in Carrick-on-Shannon which resulted in the seizure of cannabis herb with a street value in the region of €5,000.
Gardai, led by the District Detective Unit and supported by uniformed members, conducted a search under warrant as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of drugs in Co Leitrim yesterday afternoon.
During a search the cannabis herb and some drug paraphenalia was discovered. A quantity of cash was also seized.
A non-national was arrested and questioned in relation to the matter. He has since been charged and released on his own bail.
He is due to appear before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court on October 28 next.
