Councillor Sean McGowan has asked Leitrim County Council to discuss with Coilte a view to them developing a walking trail through their forest in the townland of Cornagillagh, between Rooskey and Dromod.
He said the woodland is popular and is rich flora & fauna with a wide and varied selection of wildlife.
Leitrim County Council said the potential for a nature trail in this area has been raised with Coilte and "the matter is set to receive consideration in in the context of future such investment programmes."
