Do you have stress in your life? If you answered “yes”- and really, who didn’t? – we’d like to introduce you to a form of exercise and personal development that both promotes health and relieves stress. We call it “internal alchemy” or “internal transformation” of both body and mind.

Taoist Tai Chi internal arts of health are an effective way to counteract the fast-paced yet sedentary nature of modern life and are specifically designed to improve holistic health.

The slow, gentle movements allow every part of the body to be exercised without strain. These exercises are specifically designed to improve holistic health and the benefits include: improved circulation, balance and posture; increased strength and flexibility; and reduced stress.

Over time, these internal arts reach deep inside the body to benefit its entire physiology and restore the calmness and peace of mind often lost through the excessive anxieties of daily life.

Taoist Tai Chi™ aims to slowdown, stop, and even reverse, the negative effects of aging upon our bodies and minds. The art is readily adapted to people of all ages and health circumstances: young and old, the fit and the sedentary, those who are well and those dealing with deep illness.

It helps to counteract depression and increases bone density, back flexibility and strength. No special equipment or facilities are required. Comfortable footwear, loose clothing and a bit of floor space are all that are needed.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society of Ireland has been established for 17 years and has over 300 members. All instructors are volunteers, trained to a high standard with regular accreditation and review from the international organisation. Our goal is to raise awareness of this art, and to highlight its importance in improving health and well-being in every community.

New beginner classes are now starting in Carrick-on-Shannon. Pop in to the free introductory classes on Thursday, May 2 10-11.30am in the Studio (over NowDoc), Inver Gael, Carrick-on-Shannon.
