Local Postman airlifted to hospital collision on icy roads in Cloone, Co Leitrim

A local postman was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle collision in Edenbaun, Cloone, Co Leitrim. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m., is believed to have been caused by icy and hazardous road conditions.

In a statement, An Post confirmed the incident, saying: “We are aware of the incident and relieved that our colleague escaped serious injury and is now recovering. It is a private matter, and we have no further comment to make.”

Gardaí also provided details on the crash: “Gardaí received a report of a two-vehicle collision at Edenbaun, Cloone, Co Leitrim, at around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, 7 January 2025. The driver of one of the vehicles was brought to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information is available.”

Local authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and have advised motorists to exercise caution on rural roads due to ongoing icy conditions. No additional details have been released at this time.
